Rebuilding the Road Ahead Scholarship Video Topic
In your video for the Rebuilding the Road Ahead: How an Accident Inspired My New Direction scholarship, share your personal story about how being in a car accident changed your life. Talk about what you went through, how it made you feel, and what challenges you had to overcome.
Explain how surviving a car crash helped shape your goals for the future. Did it change what career you want to pursue? Did it give you a new perspective on life, work, or helping others?
Be honest and thoughtful. We want to understand how this difficult moment gave you a new sense of purpose and helped guide your plans for college, your career, or how you want to make a difference in the world. Your story can inspire others, and your experience matters.
How to Create Your Video
To make sure your video meets the scholarship requirements, please follow these simple guidelines:
- Record your video in a well-lit area and keep the camera steady while filming.
- Say your full name and the name of the scholarship you’re applying for, either at the start or end of your video.
- If you use any information from other sources or media editing tools, be sure to mention them in your video description.
- Only use copyright-free content, and come up with a creative, eye-catching title that reflects your message.
You’re welcome to use editing tools like Adobe Creative Cloud to add images, effects, or transitions, but this is completely optional. What matters most is the strength and clarity of your message, not how polished your editing is. So, take time to write and practice your script before you start recording.
While using AI-generated B-roll footage is allowed, your video must be written and spoken by you. Using AI to create the entire video or using fake actors instead of appearing yourself is not allowed and will result in disqualification.
How to Submit Your Video
After you’ve created your video, save the file and upload it to your YouTube account as an unlisted video. Then, copy the link and paste it into the application form on this page.
